On Wednesday evening, 13 November, we drove to the Ecodrom in Neu-Ulm with our trainers, Mr Berger and Mr Brudny, to go karting.
At the Ecodrom, we were welcomed with a drink and were able to take off our jackets in the in-house restaurant.
We then received a safety briefing in which we were given important information about the rules on the kart track. We were then split into two groups, each of which drove a 7-minute qualifying session. Afterwards, we were divided into a slightly faster and a slightly slower racing group depending on our lap times in qualifying, so that the faster drivers were not slowed down so often on the track.
The slower riders started first with an introductory lap and then lined up on the starting grid. The faster riders then drove their race. Each race lasted 20 laps.
Afterwards, there was a delicious BBQ buffet in the restaurant, followed by the award ceremony and trophy presentation.
Then it was time to head back to Leutkirch, well-fuelled and with a full stomach.
