EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS

SYCOTEC MAKES SCHOOL

SycoTec was one of the first companies in Baden-Württemberg to initiate educational partnerships with various schools in the region. The aim of the partnerships is to present the variety of career prospects to students, provide guidance in finding a career and ease the transition to training, university and work.

FUTURE-ORIENTED EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS

BETWEEN SYCOTEC AND SCHOOLS

SycoTec has been cooperating with the Otl Aicher Secondary School in Leutkirch and the Wuchzenhofen Primary and Secondary School under a cooperation agreement since October 2008. The company and the schools have thus intensified existing long-standing contacts and forged new common paths in their cooperation. All those involved consider the partnership to be very successful and extremely positive. The agreement is being filled with life in many ways. For example, hours of technology instruction are held in the company on a practical basis, thus ideally complementing the theoretical lessons. Another example is that vocational training is presented directly to the school class by trainees from the company as part of career exploration. Other school children have the opportunity to complete internships at the company, for example. Based on the positive experience, SycoTec and the two schools would like to continue and expand the cooperation in the sense of a long-term educational partnership. At SycoTec, around 25 apprentices are learning their trade as industrial mechanics (m/f/d) and electronics technicians (m/f/d) for machine and drive technology. The in-depth in-company vocational training takes place in the training center – a separate building for vocational training and apprentices – as well as in the various, technologically diverse production areas. SycoTec is one of the pioneers in educational partnerships. The partnerships were launched even before the Baden-Württemberg state government and representatives of industry signed an “Agreement on the Expansion of Educational Partnerships between Schools and Companies in Baden-Württemberg” in November 2008. This agreement aims to introduce educational partnerships across the board so that every general secondary school will work with at least one partner from the business community in the long term.
