UPDATE EDITION 05/2013 | DÜRR CYPLAN AND SYCOTEC: MORE THAN JUST HOT AIR

Waste heat is produced in countless processes. As such, it is a widely available but often unused energy resource for industry. Decentralised solutions are required due to the different temperatures and variable volumes. Dürr Cyplan has been developing decentralised power generation solutions based on Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology for many years. This involves a liquid organic medium being evaporated in the ORC module by the waste heat.
The steam drives a turbo generator, after which it is turned back into a liquid in a condenser and then pumped back to the evaporator. Dürr Cyplan offers ORC systems for exhaust gas temperatures between 90 and 600°C and an electrical power output of 70 to 500 kW.
SycoTec supports these developments with highly efficient generator elements. Frank Eckert, Director Technology of Dürr Cyplan, praises the close, partnership-style collaboration. ”SycoTec supports us specifically with the development of turbo machines. This allows the parameters we specify to be reliably achieved. The direct, uncomplicated contact with SycoTec helps us to ind the right solution quickly.“
